This video outlines the contents of Open AIR’s 2014 book of research case studies, Innovation and Intellectual Property: Collaborative Dynamics in Africa (Cape Town: UCT Press). The case studies examined the knowledge governance practices of innovators in Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Botswana and South Africa engaged in a variety of sectors including music, leather goods, textiles, cocoa, coffee, auto parts, traditional medicine, scholarly writing and biofuels.
