Heba Wanis
Wanis, the Project Coordinator of the Global Health Governance Initiative at the People’s Health Movement (PHM) Global Secretariat office in Cairo, has studied and worked on intellectual property and development, particularly as related to health and access to medicines in developing countries, in several organisations. Among these are the Third World Network (TWN) and the South Centre (Innovation and Access to Knowledge Programme) in Geneva; and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) HIV/AIDS Regional Programme in the Arab States in Cairo. Wanis holds an MSc in Public Health Research from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and a BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Ain Shams University, Egypt. She continues to be involved in discussions, through government and civil society networks, related to health and pharmaceutical policies at national and regional levels.
