Gaëlle Groux is currently pursuing a joint JD and MA at the University of Ottawa and the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) at Carleton University. She has a BSc from Western University in basic medical sciences and political science. Prior to joining Open AIR, Gaëlle was a Researcher at the Global Strategy Lab at the University of Ottawa, where she conducted research on public participation in trade agreements under Prof. Michael Geist. Gaëlle is also a student leader in the North American Coordinating Committee of the Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM), where she creates resources to empower UAEM’s student chapters and advocates against stringent IP policies in trade agreements. Gaëlle’s research interests include gender and innovation, access to medicines and global health, and intellectual property issues with regard to international trade agreements.
