Farida Kamel graduated from The American University in Cairo in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She has since served as a Financial Analyst at General Electric in Bahrain; in the Public Affairs and Citizenship Department at Microsoft in Turkey; and at Flat6Labs in Cairo, where she worked with some of the fastest-growing startups in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Kamel has also completed traineeships at the economic think-tank Arabia Monitor in London and at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. She is a contributor to Peter Vogel’s 2015 book Generation Jobless (London: Palgrave Macmillan), a collection of solution-based case studies on youth unemployment in the MENA region.
Kamel was recently selected to participate in the Sciences Po (Paris) 2015 WOMED Program, a leadership fellowship for women in the Mediterranean region, and she is currently completing an MSc in Finance at the University of London.
