Ezeala Chinonyerem Ijeoma is a lawyer and academic researcher who obtained her LL.B. from Imo State University and her B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, Kano Campus, being called to the Nigerian Bar in 2013. Ezeala participated actively in litigation and community service during her NYSC (the one year mandatory graduate national service in Nigeria) and doubled as a part time in-house counsel at the law firm of Saka Isau SAN & Co as well as being the head of the Legal Aids Litigation Committee. In her role as the head of the Litigation Committee of the NYSC Kwara State community development service, she led a team of over 20 fellow Corper lawyers in providing free legal representation to indigent inmates. Ezeala has earned several awards in recognition of her academic achievements and community volunteering including the Best Economics student in Federal Girls (Owerri), the Best Graduating Law Student, and the Kwara State Coordinator’s Commendation for distinction in character and output. She is currently enrolled in a Masters program at the University of Ottawa focusing on Global Sustainability and Environmental Law. Her research interests include the intersections between environmental, economic, and social (indigenous) considerations in Global Sustainability and governance.
